Liza’s Dictionary: Carryou
Since people seem to have a hard time understanding my vernacular, I’ve decided to add a new feature to my blog, word definitions, to help you along.
carryou (ker-ree-yoo) noun?
The act of having Mommy or Daddy transfer me from one location to another in their arms.
as in, “I want carryou.”
I learned it from Mommy and Daddy saying, “Do you want me to carry you?”
I seem to get less carryou since Jake was born.

Tease
I was just teasing Momma. I really have no interest in peeing on the potty on a regular basis yet. But boy did she get excited over that one time!

Pee on the Potty
I went pee pee on the potty today! (The big potty too, not my little potty.)
My first attempt at potty usage, a few months ago, resulted in a little pile of poop very near the potty and a big puddle of pee nowhere near the potty. So we decided it wasn’t quite time yet. But I still maintained my interest in all things potty-realted: books, toilet paper and flushing, watching Momma, and occassionally sitting on a potty myself (without results).
Today at Grandma and Grandpas I told Momma it was potty time, so she went with me and undressed and held me. I pushed a bit, but nothing. I asked for some toilet paper to wipe myself anyway and while I was wiping… a small trickle came! Just a little, but Momma was very happy. Daddy came and was very happy too. He was hooting and hollering like nobody’s business. They gave me a whole cookie to eat by myself.
When I asked for another cookie I was told I would need to pee in the potty again. And so I said I would, and I sat again and shortly there was more pee pee. A lot more pee pee! Momma was just as pleased as could be. But she said I would have to settle for two measly chocolate chips instead of a whole ‘nother cookie. Which is bunk. Now I’m told I must make poo poo in the potty to get another cookie. Bait and switch. I’ll have to think about this potty thing and whether I want to keep it up with such a messed up reward system.

Christmas Wishlist
Momma and Daddy are busy putting together their Christmas wishlists. Momma even put a few things on hers that are really for me, including a potty seat. She’s got high hopes it seems!
Momma asked me to put my list together and post it here so that she could try out a feature of WordPress. So here is my preliminary wishlist. Remember that she is a wierdo and doesn’t want me to have any highly commercialized toys like Elmo or American Girl that might turn me into a fanatic. No videos either. Certainly no toy guns!

Personal Grooming
Here’s a photo of me brushing my teeth, one of my favorite activities. I do it every morning, and every night before bedtime. I reallyenjoy it because I’ve seen Momma and Daddy do it and I like to do things that they do. Occasionally, in the middle of the day I will ask to brush my teeth by making the “brush teeth” sign. Momma rarely indulges me, but once at Grandma and Grandpa’s I was able to trick them into letting me brush my teeth several times in one morning.

This photo also shows my new haircut, given by my personal stylist, Mommy. You may have noticed in past photos that my hair was getting a bit “out of control” and tended to hang straight forward into my face. It’s much better now- she actually did a decent job.

My New School is Awesome!
It’s only been a week, but it’s been a really good week. We weren’t happy with my first daycare since the big move so we checked out several more in the area and found a really good one. It’s a demonstration school for one of the local college’s Early Childhood Education program. So they have to do everything by the book (change my diaper every 2 hours, make sure there’s enough teachers, keep my hands clean, etc.) All of my teachers are really smart and fun. The program is really small, so I get lots of teacher time to myself. The building is new and the toddler room is brand new with all new toys. There is a water table that I love to play with, a “dramatic play area” with a little fridge and stove, and lots of different types of chairs. There is a big outdoor area with a slide and sprinklers and bubble-makers. I like to throw the ball around! And there is a big indoor play area too.
I got to meet my teachers before I started there. Mommy and I made a visit and spent time all by ourselves in the toddler room with the teachers. Then the teachers came to my house and played with me there. Come Monday, I was already used to it all and I haven’t fussed once since Mommy started dropping me off there. (I used to scream like crazy when she left me at the other place.)
One thing I don’t like it that there is an “observation room” that Mommy and Daddy can go in to spy on me. There are microphones hanging from the cieling of my room and a big mirrored wall that they can hide behind and watch me without me knowing it.
So far there are only two other boys in the room, but I hear that some more kids will be starting next week. I will try to be nice to them and not push them or grab them by the collar of thier shirt and throw them on the floor (ok, really, he was much bigger than me. I didn’t think I could actually do it). But if I happen to, I hope that Mommy or Daddy aren’t secretly watching.

“Where’s your nose? Where’s your ear? Where’s your bellybutton?!?!?”
So, I’m becoming a self-actualized baby. I mean, little woman….
Daddy started asking me all kinds of silly questions this week. He kept asking me over, and over, and over, and over…. “Where’s your nose? Where’s your ear? Where’s your bellybutton?!?!?”
For a while I just kinda ignored him ’cause I thought it was funnny how he kept touching my face and lifting up my shirt. After a while though I decided to play along and show him that it’s no big deal to touch your nose, ear, or bellybutton. So, hands-off Daddy!!!! These are mine and I will show you where they are located if you ask me nicely.
Mommy hasn’t been around to play this game with me. I heard something about her wanting to eat Boston Cream Pies or something…. I guess she flew on an airplane somewhere (how dare you leave me!) and left Daddy all alone with me. He did a pretty good job.
I’m still alive.

A word for all my fans
I just wanted to say thanks to all of my family and friends out there who check in on me and my blog. Momma, Daddy, and I love reading your comments. Grandma Ruby sends me messages a lot with wise advice and comforting messages. My teachers and friends from my old school tell me they miss me, which is nice, because I miss them too. (I still don’t like my new school so we’ll be switching again soon. I think I got lucky with my first daycare and now nothing seems good enough.) And I get messages from my blogging buddy Elias.
Summer is a busy time, so I haven’t been blogging much. But I do have lots to tell you about, including my new house and yard, my sprinkler, the local pool, and we have some trips planned soon. More to come…

It’s fun to stay at the YMCA
I am now an official, card-carrying member of our local YMCA. Momma says she wants to take me for
swimming lessons in what she tells me is a HUGE bathtub. And when I’m a bit bigger there is a room with a huge slide and play area. She also tells me there is a room I can go for free and play with toys and other kids and teenage girls. This sounds a lot like daycare to me and I plan to scream if she takes me there.
I have my own plans. I want to work on my upper-body strength so that I can pull myself out of my crib.
