Mother’s Day 2009
Daddy helped me make breakfast in bed for Momma today. Jake played his part in the surprise by keeping her in bed late while Daddy and I cooked downstairs in the kitchen. We made pancakes and eggs and coffee and juice. And a card.
Later, Joycee and Papa Gene came over and we all went to the arboretum and walked around. Papa Gene said I could spend the night in a tree if I wanted, but I preferred to go get something to eat. So we went for Thai food where I had a some of Joycee’s tofu salad. I stayed up real late again!

Tri-State Roadtrip 2009
Momma, Daddy and I went on a roadtrip this past week to visit some friends and family. First we headed to Milwaukee to visit Auntie Mandy, Uncle John, Ryan, Jack and my new cousin Lincoln. I was really excited to see my cousins and we had a good time playing together and fighting over toys and such. They gave me a stroller for my baby doll and that was nice! Lincoln was very small, but they let me pet his head. Jack was nice and s
howed me how to do some things with toys. Ryan and I dressed up like cowboys. And I got to see Bobby-O.
The next day we drove north a bit to Fond du Lac to visit friends Andy and Liz and thier baby Leander. Leander is six and a half months and sits real nice and doesn’t try to steal my toys. He doesn’t even complain when I steal his. This baby and I got along real well.
Next we headed towards the Twin Cities. We passed alot of farms and I saw some live cows and horses. We sang “Old McDonald” and I’m getting real good at saying, “E-I-E-I-O”. I now work it into everyday conversation.
Singing Old McDonald in the car
We stopped near Eau Claire to see my great aunt Sherrie and Wayne and have dinner. They gave me a bunny and let me play with their very fascinating coasters.
Late that night we arrived at Grandma and Grandpa G’s in Minnesota. I immediately went and said Hi to Big Bird, as noone else was up. We stayed there for almost a week. I played with the kitchen set and the bristle blocks alot. Momma and Daddy took me to the Children’s Museum. It was great. Very different from our children’s museum. There were lots of things to climb on and run around in. There were animal costumes I could wear, water I could stick my hands in, and even a grocery store where I could go shopping! I got to drive a bus too! We’ll have to go back there again. Momma also took me to the zoo. It was cold out so we stayed inside, but we did get to see some monkeys and turtles and birds and lots and lots of fish. My favorite was the shark! I yelled at him through the glass and got mad when he swam away. There were lots of other fish to see when he wasn’t around, but really, he’s the best. Momma recorded me talking to him.
The rest of the week I hung out with Grandma and Grandpa and sometimes Auntie Heidi. It was her birthday around that time, so we had a bit of a party. We also went over to Uncle Greg and Aunt Lindsey’s and saw cousin Keith. I stayed up late a lot, once even past 10! Other than that, not much. Just hanging with Momma and Daddy.

Baby
I like babies. They are good to look at and make me smile. Sometimes one of the other mother’s at daycare brings a baby and I get to stare at it for a while. I haven’t tried poking it in the eye yet, but I’ve thought about it. The cat’s don’t seem to like a poke in the eye, which is why I’ve been holding back.
I can now say “baby” too. Before it was just “be”, but I’ve gotten the hang of the two syllable thing. Like “bubble”.
Momma and Daddy keep talking about some baby that is coming to our house sometime. They use words like “sister” and “brother” and “share”. I don’t like the sound of that last word. But a baby can only be a good thing- it should mean more binks in the house, more toys, and a new bed for me.
Oh, yah, Momma wanted me to mention a new blog: Number Two

Kieth Blue
Uncle Greg and Aunt Lindsey had a baby early this morning. Yah, more cousins, but…
Another boy? Geez. Where are all the female cousins who will play “dress up” and “house” with me? Boys are fine for now while we all share the same interests (banging things, scribbling, climbing, etc.) but soon I will grow out of that and on to more productive activities such as organizing doll houses, dressing barbies, and doing hair. Who’s going to play those games at holiday time with me? Someone help me out and MAKE ME A GIRL COUSIN!

Waterpark Weekend
This past weekend Momma took me to Wisconsin Dells to stay at a Waterpark resort with Grandma and Grandpa G, and Auntie Mandy and Uncle John and cousins Jack and Ryan. (Daddy had to work.)
We went to the waterpark on Friday night, Saturday morning and afternoon, and Sunday morning. Even though I can’t go on most of the slides and things, it was still a whole lot of fun. Just standing in the water is fun. Momma did take me down a slide, put me on a turtle’s back, and we swam and played water basketball. My favorite was sitting at the edge of the wavepool in the very shallow water and letting the waves lap over my legs.
Seeing the family was also good. I had Grandpa read each of my books several times, and I played in the kitchen with Grandma. I also hung with cousin Ryan quite a bit. We shared some good times. He pushed me around in the laundry basket, and I fed him some raisins. We also fought a lot. If he looks pained to be sitting next to me in this picture, it’s probably because he’s afraid I’m going to steal one of his toys or start screaming because he gets too close to Mommy.

Hands off my Momma
Are you less than three feet tall?
Then keep your hands off my Momma. I don’t want any other babies touching her. She’s mine.
What happens if you do touch my Momma? You’ll get a hand to the face and a good shove. Little baby Alex at daycare learned that lesson this morning.

My Momma’s Allright, My Dadda’s Allright…
You know what? Daddy is actually pretty cool.
For a while I was feeling like Momma was the best thing on this planet and no-body and no-thing even came close. But I’ve discovered Daddy- and he’s a pretty good substitute. I may even prefer him on occasion.
Sorry for dissing you before, Daddy.
